During my M.A. in English Composition at SF State I delved into pedagogical theory and practice, considering how our daily lived contexts, our ways of being in the world, inform our attempts at knowledge production. This work laid the foundation for my current doctoral research into the rhetoric of science. Specifically, I inquire into how historical context shapes the rhetorical choices bacteriologists make, and the metaphors they choose to describe communication between bacteria and human bodies.
