Tell us about yourself and what you are currently doing.
After studying English at UCLA I worked doing anything thrown my way in around Los Angeles, from a warehouse grunt at Hello Kitty to a an editor for Taschen publishing and even an extra in a Lil Wayne music video. I currently teach composition at various Bay Area community colleges and business writing at SF State.
How has your M.A. from SF State helped get you to be where you are today?
The SF State program helped me recognize the intricate processes that exist beneath all applications of reading and writing, whether writing an essay, a business proposal or even something as simple as a text message. Subsequently, SF State's composition program facilitated an environment with the heuristics necessary to create curriculum based on these complex applications.
